Fowler's inclusion in the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 squad was met with excitement from Aussie fans. After Fowler looked to be in the form of her career with Manchester City, becoming the first player to record two or more goal involvements in four consecutive appearances, an ACL injury in April 2025 looked like the forward might miss the tournament on home soil.
However, hours of rehab and time spent working to be back to her best, Fowler made her return for Manchester at the start of February 2026, and was subsequently named in Joe Montemurro's squad.
Fowler brings a creative flair to the side and can be deployed anywhere in the forward line, as well as in midfield. The forward is able to break the lines of defence with her wonderful through balls, something we saw on display during the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.
Off the pitch, Fowler made history during her ACL rehab, becoming the first-ever female footballer to walk at Paris Fashion Week.
