Sam Kerr has been nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Player for the sixth year in a row.
The Chelsea striker is part of a 14-woman shortlist vying for the prestigious prize. Kerr finds herself nominated alongside fellow Chelsea teammate Jessie Fleming for the Best FIFA Women's Player. While goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger has been nominated for the Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper.

The award - which was won last year by Spain's Alexia Putellas - is based on footballing achievements from 7 August 2021 to 31 July 2022, inclusive.
Kerr was placed second in the 2021 edition, 14 points behind the two-time Ballon d'Or winner, breaking the top three for the first time since the award was first presented in 2016.

This period has seen Kerr star for both club and country, helping Chelsea to a third-consectuive WSL title and back-to-back Women's FA Cup trophies and captaining Australia throughout the year, winning the golden boot at the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup.
During that specified period of time, Kerr won the Golden Boot in the FA WSL with 20 goals to her name, claiming the title for the second season in a row. The 2021-22 season saw Chelsea lift the FA WSL Championship and FA Women's League Cup.
For country Kerr netted seven goals at the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup, becoming Australia's all-time leading goalscorer, overtaking Socceroos' legend Tim Cahill.
