Leticia McKenna signs for Nottingham Forest F.C. in the Women's Super League 2

Leticia McKenna has signed for Nottingham Forest F.C. in the Women's Super League 2 on a two-year deal, making the move from Melbourne City in the A-League Women.

The midfielder joins Nottingham on a two-year deal and will be hoping to get her side back into the top flight of English football ahead of their WSL2 season kicking off this weekend.

The deal is a record-breaking fee for a Ninja A-League side, as the midfielder departs after five seasons with Melbourne City and making 114 appearances. McKenna's time with the club saw her help City to three consecutive Premiership-winning campaigns as well as the domestic double last season when they claimed the championship.

McKenna's breakout season saw her called up for the CommBank Matildas ahead of the FIFA Series in April, coming off the bench to make her debut against Malawi, and a debut to remember as she got on the scoresheet in the 5-0 victory.

More recently, McKenna has been nominated for the PFA Women's Young Footballer of the Year, alongside Isabel Gomez, Charlize Rule, Pia Vlok, Talia Younis and Willa Pearson.

Tom Mallinson, Head Coach, said on McKenna: “Leticia is of an age where she can continue to improve and grow as a player, but she has also already achieved a lot in the game. That is a balance that is always exciting for a coach, and we are all looking forward to working with her.

“She will give us something different in our midfield and has the quality to come into the group and make an immediate impact. We are delighted she is joining us.”

Forest finished the 2025/26 season in 7th place with nine wins, three draws and 10 defeats, 12 points shy of a promotion spot. Nottingham will kick off their WSL2 campaign against Ipswich Town on Sunday, 11.00pm AEST.
