Sam Kerr has signed a new contract with Chelsea, which will see the forward continue her stay with the London side, extending her contract at the club until the summer of 2026.
The striker, who signed for the Blues midway through the 2019/20 season, will now remain with the reigning FA Women's Super League Champions after signing a two-year deal.

Since signing for Chelsea, Kerr has played a starring role for the side, scoring 99 goals and picking up 11 trophies with the side. Despite missing half the 2023/24 season through an ACL injury sustained in January, Chelsea lifted a fifth consecutive WSL title to bid farewell to manager Emma Hayes.
Kerr talked about the contract renewal, "It’s really exciting and a very proud moment for me. Having the opportunity to stay at a club like Chelsea means a lot to me. I’m really excited to continue to push and to try to win trophies.” she told chelsea.com.

The Chelsea Women's general manager, Paul Green added: "We are delighted that Sam has extended her deal with the club. Sam is a leader and one of the world’s best strikers and goalscorers. She has been very important to our success, and we look forward to welcoming her back from injury next season."
This upcoming 2024/25 season will see Chelsea welcome a new manager in Sonia Bompastor after Emma Hayes' 12-year tenure at the club came to an end. Bompastor, who helped Ellie Carpenter's Lyon to three D1 titles and 1 UEFA Women's Champions League titles, is no stranger to winning as a manager and as a player.
