Holly McNamara scored her 12th goal of the season, and Bryleeh Henry scored her first, as Melbourne City came from behind to defeat Brisbane Roar 5-2 in the top-of-the-table clash.
Elsewhere, Canberra United defeated Sydney FC, while Adelaide broke the Wanderers three game winning run.

Wellington Phoenix 1 – 0 Perth Glory
The Wellington Phoenix went to the top of the table for the first time in their history after defeating Perth Glory 1-0 on Friday.
Makala Woods scored the only goal of the game in first-half stoppage time to help the Phoenix to all three points. Results elsewhere mean that they finish the round in second, but have a game in hand on top-of-the-table Melbourne City.
Perth are now in eighth, but only three points away from sixth, with a game in hand on Melbourne Victory.
Melbourne Victory 2 – 1 Newcastle Jets
Melbourne Victory picked up a vital three points against the Newcastle Jets. An 82nd-minute goal from Holly Furphy was the winner after Kelli Brown equalised for the Jets from the penalty spot earlier in the game. The result puts Victory back in the top six, but multiple teams, including the Mariners and the Glory, have a game in hand to catch up.
Natasha Prior started and played the full game for the Jets.
Western Sydney Wanderers 0 – 1 Adelaide United
Western Sydney Wanderers three game winning run came to an end at the hands of Adelaide United on Sunday.
An own goal in the second half was the difference between the two sides. It was a result reflective of the chances created by the Reds, but CommBank Young Matilda Ilona Melegh still had plenty to do between the sticks to keep the clean sheet.
Adriana Taranto came off the bench in the second half for Adelaide, who finished the round in fourth.
Sydney FC 1 – 2 Canberra United
Canberra United had to fight hard to defeat Sydney FC 2-1.
Bethany Gordon scored to give Canberra the lead in the first half, only to be cancelled out by a goal from Sydney defender Madison Ayson. Sydney were forced to play most of the second half with ten, due to Kirsty Fenton being shown a red card for a denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity. Mary Stanic-Floody scored the winner in the 86th minute after sustained Canberra pressure.
Michelle Heyman started and played the full game for Canberra. They are now third, while Sydney is at the bottom of the table.
Melbourne City 5 – 2 Brisbane Roar
Melbourne City conceded the first two goals, but came back with a bang, defeating Brisbane Roar 5-2 to retain their place at the summit of the A-League Women’s table for another round.
Kijah Stephenson scored a brace for Brisbane before City hit back. Rebekah Stott, Holly McNamara, Bryleeh Henry, Deven Jackson and Aideen Keane were all on the scoresheet for City as they overran Brisbane in the second half.
McNamara, Henry and Alexia Apostolakis all started for City. Chloe Lincoln started for Brisbane with Sharn Freier, Tameka Yallop and Grace Kuilamu all unavailable due to injury.
