The Mariners scored first, with Annalise Rasmussen applying the finishing touch to a fantastic through ball from Isabel Gomez. However, after a lengthy delay following the second lightning storm nearby, Canberra managed to equalise, with Sasha Grove popping up yet another goal to rescue a point for the home side.
Michelle Heyman started for Canberra, as did Gomez for the Mariners. Both teams head into Christmas in the top four.
