Brisbane Roar 2 – 2 Central Coast Mariners

The Central Coast Mariners came from behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw in Brisbane.

Ashlyn Miller and Daisy Brown both scored for the Roar, while a brace to Annalise Rasmussen – back equal top of the golden boot race with eleven goals for the season – helped the Mariners to a draw. The result sees both teams remain in the top six by a hair’s breadth, but plenty of permutations to come.

Isabel Gomez started for the Mariners while Chloe Lincoln and Sharn Freier started for the Roar. Freier left the field late due to injury. Tameka Yallop and Grace Kuilamu remain available for Brisbane through injuries of their own.

Adelaide United 2 – 1 Melbourne City

Adelaide United defeated Melbourne City for the first time in over five years, overcoming the defending premiers 2-1.

Fiona Worts scored in the first half for the Reds before Ella Tonkin doubled their lead with a header in the second. City hit back through Leticia McKenna, but it wasn’t enough for a side who were below their best in the fixture.

Holly McNamara and Karly Roestbakken both started for City, while Alexia Apostolakis and Bryleeh Henry were second-half substitutions. Adriana Taranto came on in the second half for the Reds.

Sydney FC 2 – 3 Western Sydney Wanderers

The Western Sydney Wanderers defeated Sydney FC for the first time in six years when they overcame them 3-2 at Allianz Stadium.

In one of the most exciting Sydney Derbies in recent memory, the Wanderers came from behind to lead 3-1 in the second half. A late goal from Amber Luchtmeijer for Sydney made things interesting, but the Wanderers held on to secure all three points.

Canberra United 3 – 1 Melbourne Victory

Canberra United took advantage of a ten-player Melbourne Victory to overrun them in the second half and win 3-1.

Claudia Bunge’s red card in the first half for a denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity shaped the rest of the game. While Victory scored first through Kennedy White, it was Canberra applying the pressure, and they eventually made their extra player count.

Michelle Heyman started for Canberra before being withdrawn late in the second half.

Newcastle Jets 1 – 5 Wellington Phoenix

The Wellington Phoenix scored four goals in the first 24 minutes of the game to shock Newcastle and eventually finish 5-1 victors.

Pia Vlok became the second youngest player in A-League Women's history to score a hat-trick when she made it five for the Phoenix in the second half. The Jets got a goal back through Melina Ayres, but it was always going to be difficult to make a game of it after the early Phoenix barrage.

Tash Prior started and played the full game for the Jets.
