The Central Coast Mariners were triumphant in their New Years Eve clash against the Brisbane Roar, but not before Grace Kuilamu and Sharn Freier added their names to the scoresheet.
This weekend will see the first action of the new year in the A-League Women, with a full weekend of five fixtures and plenty of storylines to play out.

Western Sydney Wanderers 0 – 3 Wellington Phoenix
The Wellington Phoenix secured their first three points in Australia in almost 12 months, defeating the Western Sydney Wanderers 3-0.
Emma Main scored a brace for the ‘Nix while Nepalese international Sabitra Bhandari scored and assisted as well. The win puts the Phoenix into fifth on the table, while the Wanderers remain bottom.
Chloe Berryhill started for the Wanderers, creating a number of chances.
Central Coast Mariners 3 – 2 Brisbane Roar
The final match of 2025 was an entertaining one, with the Central Coast Mariners coming from behind to defeat the Brisbane Roar 3-2.
The Mariners scored first through Isabella Coco-Di Sipio before Grace Kuilamu and Sharn Freier gave the Roar the lead. However, a brace for Mariners young gun Annalise Rasmussen – one of them assisted by Isabel Gomez – saw the home side over the line.
Kuilamu started for the Roar before being withdrawn in the first half due to a non-contact injury. Freier and Chloe Lincoln also started, while Tameka Yallop remains unavailable with a major hamstring injury. Isabel Gomez started and was highly influential for the Mariners.

The Roar don't have long to think about their defeat against the Mariners, backing up in Brisbane on Saturday against an in-form Wellington Phoenix.
Brisbane will be grateful to be back home to show off the form that saw them be early front runners in the first parts of the season. They will be sweating on the fitness of young gun Grace Kuilamu, but will hope the likes of import Bente Jansen and CommBank Matilda Sharn Freier can lift them to three points. The Phoenix, meanwhile, will feel like it's all coming together at the moment. If 'Samba' can continue her scintillating form, they'll back themselves to blow the Roar away.
Freier and Chloe Lincoln will likely be available for the Roar, while they await an announcement on Grace Kuilamu's injury. Tameka Yallop will be unavailable due to a serious hamstring injury.
