Western United 1 – 1 Melbourne City
Melbourne City remain undefeated after 12 games but faced a real scare against a resurgent Western United.
Western struck first late in the first half, with CommBank Young Matilda Kahli Johnson continuing her fantastic goal-scoring form and giving the home side the lead. Western were very much taking the game to the defending premiers and were unlucky to not score a second as they continued their good performance after the break.
However, it would be City who would equalise. Holly McNamara made all the difference coming on as a half-time substitute, pouncing on an assist from Lourdes Bosch in the 83rd minute and ensuring that her team’s undefeated record remained intact.
Laura Hughes and Leah Davidson started the match for City, while McNamara entered the pitch at half-time. Karly Roestbakken was an unused substitute. Bryleeh Henry remained unavailable for selection due to symptoms of concussion.
Chloe Logarzo started and played the full match for Western United, while Chloe Lincoln was an unused substitute.
Canberra United 1 – 0 Western Sydney Wanderers
Canberra United continued their fantastic run of form with a 1-0 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers.
A great ball in from Emma Robers after a short corner routine found the head of Sofia Christopherson late in the first half, whose header nestled into the back of the net via a deflection from Wanderers goalkeeper Sham Khamis.
That would prove the only goal of the game, as the Wanderers were not able to break down a disciplined and solid Canberra defence.
Michelle Heyman was a late withdrawal from the game, picking up a knock in the warmup. It meant that she was unavailable to take part in the fixture.
Melbourne Victory 1 – 0 Perth Glory
Melbourne Victory squeezed past Perth Glory 1-0 to finish the round in outright second on the ladder.
Defender Kayla Morrison scored the only goal of the game, the ball finding her at the back post after a set piece. Her volley into the back of the net was taken like a striker – an impressive goal worthy of being the winner.
The Glory’s cause was not helped by a second yellow card to Tijan McKenna in the 60th minute, meaning that they had to play the final third of the game with ten players. They fought valiantly but weren’t able to leave Melbourne with a point.
Alex Chidiac and Emily Gielnik both started and played the full match for Victory. Chidiac celebrated her 100th A-League Women's goal in this game.

Wellington Phoenix 3 – 2 Newcastle Jets
The Wellington Phoenix came from two goals down to complete a dramatic comeback late in stoppage time, defeating the Newcastle Jets 3-2.
A brace to former CommBank Young Matildas captain Sheridan Gallagher saw the Jets go into half-time two goals to the good. However, changes at the break from the Phoenix were a firm signal of intent, and they came out of the blocks firing.
Manaia Elliott and Annalie Longo struck early in the first half to equalise. The Phoenix kept pushing, but it looked like the three points were out of their reach – until a Manaia Elliott 'Olimpico' deep in stoppage time won the game in spectacular fashion.
Tash Prior started and played the full game for the Jets.
Sydney FC 0 – 0 Central Coast Mariners
Sydney FC continued their undefeated start to 2025 with a scoreless draw with the Mariners.
The Mariners had the better opportunities, particularly in the first half, but an outstanding performance from Sydney’s goalkeeper Brianna Edwards kept them in the game. It is a welcome point for Sydney who find themselves creeping ever closer to the top six.
Jessika Nash started and played the full match for the Mariners.
Brisbane Roar 2 – 3 Adelaide United
Adelaide United pulled off a statement win at Perry Park, jumping over the Roar into third after a 3-2 victory.
Chelsie Dawber gave the Reds the lead late in the first half before an immediate equaliser from CommBank Young Matilda Tish Woods sent the teams into the half-time break with one goal apiece.
However, Adelaide came out firing in the second half. Erin Healy scored after a wonderful run and finish from midfield and Dawber added her second from a corner, with Matilda McNamara’s flick header providing the assist.
A stoppage-time goal to Tameka Yallop gave the Roar some hope in the dying stages of the match but Adelaide held on for what could be a season-defining victory.
Yallop and Sharn Freier both started and played the full match for the Roar. Matilda McNamara started and played the full match in the heart of defence for Adelaide.
