UEFA Women’s Champions League

An 86th-minute goal for Jule Brand meant that Lyon came from behind to deliver revenge for last season, defeating Arsenal 3-1 on the day and 4-3 on aggregate. The Gunners could have been forgiven for thinking Alessia Russo’s second-half goal would put the tie into extra time, but Lyon did enough to advance to the final in front of their home fans. Caitlin Foord started for Arsenal while Steph Catley and Kyra Cooney-Cross remain unavailable. Teagan Micah is unavailable for Lyon.

UEFA Women’s Europa League

Aivi Luik's BK Häcken claimed the inaugural UEFA Women's Europa League title, beating Hammarby 4-2 on aggregate. Luik started in both legs of the final, helping Häcken to a win over their Swedish rivals in the decider.

England

WSL

Chelsea defeated Leicester City 3-1, securing a place in the top three and European football next season. Sam Kerr scored her 64th goal in the WSL, which takes her beyond Fran Kirby as Chelsea’s all-time leading WSL scorer. Lauren James scored a first-half brace to seal the result. Kerr started the match alongside Ellie Carpenter. Emily van Egmond started for the Foxes.

A stoppage-time goal from Rebecca Knaak meant that Manchester City still have the title in their own hands. The 1-0 win over Liverpool took them to 52 points, meaning that a win on the final day of the league will guarantee them the trophy. Mary Fowler was a second-half substitute for City.

Tottenham Hotspur defeated London City Lionesses 2-1 as they look to claim the title of ‘best of the rest’ outside the big four in the WSL. Alanna Kennedy scored a late consolation for the Lionesses, but it wasn’t enough to lift them to a point. Kennedy came on as a first-half substitute while Charli Grant was unused on the Spurs’ bench.

Brighton & Hove Albion continued their fantastic run of form with a 1-1 draw against Manchester United. It could have been so much more, leading for most of the game before a stoppage-time equaliser for United earned them a point. Charlie Rule started for Brighton in defence.

WSL2

Newcastle finished their WSL2 campaign in defeat, falling 1-0 to Durham. Kaitlyn Torpey was not named in the matchday squad. The result meant that Newcastle finished the WSL2 season in sixth.

Sweden

Malmö FF have continued their positive start to the season, defeating FC Rosengård 1-0. Sara Fornes scored the only goal of the game to lift them to three points. Courtney Nevin and Amy Sayer both started for Malmö, while Remy Siemsen was up top for Rosengård.

United States

NWSL

Portland Thorns remained top of the table after defeating Chicago Stars 2-0. Olivia Moultrie and Reilyn Turner scored the two goals on either side of half-time. Mackenzie Arnold kept another clean sheet as the Thorns’ wonderful start to the season continued.

USL

DC Power drew 1-1 with Dallas Trinity. The result leaves them one point outside of the playoffs with two games remaining. Morgan Aquino was an unused substitute for DC Power.

Italy

Sassuolo drew 0-0 with Genoa. Results elsewhere mean that the point has secured their safety from relegation. Jessika Nash was an unused substitute for Sassuolo.

A brace to Manula Giugliano meant that AS Roma secured the league title after a 2-0 win over Ternana. Winonah Heatley was an unused substitute for Roma.

A second-half penalty meant that Como fell 1-0 to Fiorentina. Alex Chidiac started for Como but was not able to help her team find the breakthrough.

Canada

Ottawa Rapid defeated Calgary Wild 5-2 in a rollicking round two game. Kahli Johnson was not in the matchday squad for Calgary.
