England

Chelsea defeated Liverpool 9-1 to advance to the semi-finals of the League Cup in emphatic fashion. Sam Kerr scored a brace while Liverpool had no answers to Chelsea’s onslaught. Kerr started before being withdrawn in the second half, while Ellie Carpenter was rested for Chelsea.

Manchester City had few problems in their game, defeating West Ham 5-1. There were five different goalscorers as West Ham struggled to keep their opponents out. Mary Fowler remains unavailable for City, but is close to a return in the new year, while Katrina Gorry was unavailable for West Ham.

Manchester United came from behind against Tottenham Hotspur again, this time for the win, as they were 2-1 victors. Drew Spence scored for Spurs in the first half before Jess Park and Fridolina Rolfo made United’s dominance count with goals in the second. Clare Hunt started and played the full game for Tottenham while Charli Grant remains unavailable due to a knee injury.

Finally, Kyra Cooney-Cross picked up an assist as Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace 2-0. Goals scored on either side of the break helped a rotated Gunners side to victory. Cooney-Cross and Caitlin Foord started for Arsenal, with Steph Catley coming on as a second-half substitute.

Germany

Eintracht Frankfurt defeated SGS Essen 4-1 to go into the winter break off the back of a win. Nicole Anyomi scored a brace in the comprehensive victory. Hayley Raso came on as a second-half substitute for Frankfurt.

TSG Hoffenheim comfortably defeated Carl Zeiss Jena 5-1 to head into the winter break only one point away from European qualification. Jamilla Rankin started as part of a back three before being withdrawn late in the second half.

France

Lyon defeated Fleury 3-0 to head into the winter’s break with a perfect 11-win record in the league. Teagan Micah started in goals and kept a clean sheet.

United States

Morgan Aquino kept a clean sheet, but it wasn’t enough for DC Power to walk away with the win, as it ended scoreless with Carolina Ascent. The result means that DC go into the break sitting in eighth on the USL table – but, in such a close league, are far from out of title contention in the new year.
