CommBank Matildas were well and truly amongst the goals over the weekend’s action, with Remy Siemsen, Caitlin Foord and Winonah Heatley all on the score sheet.
Meanwhile, Ellie Carpenter was awarded Player of the Match for her role in Lyon’s victory.

England
Chelsea continued their fantastic start to the FA WSL season, defeating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates. Early goals to Mayra Ramírez and Sandy Baltimore proved the difference, despite a Caitlin Foord stunner for Arsenal halving their lead before half-time.

It is a frustrating result for Arsenal, who only has five points after the first four games, well off the pace required to challenge for the title.
Foord started and played the full match for the Gunners. Kyra Cooney-Cross came on in the second half, while Steph Catley was an unused substitute.
Meanwhile, Sam Kerr remains unavailable for Chelsea as she rehabilitates from her ACL injury.
Despite racking up fewer shots, and finishing the match with less possession, Manchester United never really looked troubled against Tottenham Hotspur and walked away with a 3-0 victory. Elisabeth Terland’s brace late in the first half gave them the lead before a Maya Le Tissier penalty sealed the result.
Clare Hunt and Charli Grant both started for Spurs and played the full match – for Grant, her first start of the season. Hayley Raso was unavailable for Tottenham due to injury.
Everton and West Ham shared the spoils as they played out a 1-1 draw. Anouk Denton scored early for West Ham, only for a Camila Sáez own goal – a wicked deflection from a Melissa Lawley cross - to level things up for Everton.
Clare Wheeler and Katrina Gorry started and played the full match for their respective teams in midfield.
Brighton & Hove Albion continued their encouraging start to the season with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace. A first-half Bruna Vilamala goal separated the two teams. Palace will take heart from the game's evenness and know that there will be more points in the future.
Charlie Rule remains unavailable for Brighton.
Aston Villa and Leicester City played out a scoreless draw on the weekend, meaning that the four teams that entered the round winless continue that record after four games. Villa had the better of the game but will rue their inability to hit the back of the net.
Courtney Nevin started and played the full match for the Foxes at left-back, her first start of the season.
Manchester City required a stoppage-time winner from Khadija Shaw to defeat Liverpool 2-1. Liverpool’s Olivia Smith struck first before a second-half Shaw brace – including a dramatic winner – secured the three points for City.

Mary Fowler started for City and was heavily involved, including coming close to scoring in the second half, before being substituted late in the game. Alanna Kennedy was an unused substitute.
Meanwhile, Teagan Micah was unavailable for Liverpool due to injury.
France
Ellie Carpenter received Player of the Match honours as Lyon defeated Dijon 3-0. Kadidiatou Diani and Sara Däbritz were on the scoresheet as the defending champions eased past their opponents and continued their perfect record for the season.

Carpenter started and played the full match in a back three for Lyon.
Paris FC defeated Reims 3-2 in a much-needed boost to their early season form. Julie Dufour and Gaëtane Thiney scored in the first half before Kessya Bussy sealed the result for the home side in the second. Sarah Hunter was an unused substitute for Paris.
Sweden
Kristianstads DFF were unable to hold onto a three-goal lead against Växjö DFF, sharing the spoils 3-3. Remy Siemsen scored a three-minute brace early in the second half before a 70th-minute red card to goalkeeper Moa Olsson turned the game on its head. Växjö were able to score three times in 17 minutes to earn themselves a draw and leave Kristianstads unable to qualify for the UWCL next season.
Siemsen and Clare Polkinghorne started the match for Kristianstads, with Siemsen named Player of the Match in the draw. Amy Sayer remains unavailable as she continues her rehabilitation for her ACL injury.
BK Häcken made a statement as they piled on the goals against Linköping, walking away 8-1 victors. It is a result that doesn’t have a large bearing on the remainder of their season, as they are guaranteed to finish second or third, but is a warning shot of what they are capable of. Aivi Luik was unavailable for Häcken.
AIK Fotboll did well to secure a much-needed point against Djurgården, the game ending 1-1. However, it may be all for naught, as relegation rivals KIF Örebro DFF have leapt above them after gaining three of their own. AIK are now two points away from escaping automatic relegation with three games remaining.
Jada Whyman played in goal for AIK and was named Player of the Match.
United States
The Portland Thorns defeated Shield holders Orlando Pride 2-0 in a vital boost to their season. The result means that they are six points clear in the play-off spots, all but securing a place in the finals. Morgan Weaver and Canadian legend Christine Sinclair were on the scoresheet for the Thorns.
Mackenzie Arnold was unavailable for the Thorns.
There was extremely late drama between the North Carolina Courage and Angel City FC, as a 97th-minute Christen Press goal for Angel City was ruled out by a 100th-minute Olivia Wingate equaliser. The result means that, regardless of what happens in the next two weeks, the Courage are guaranteed to finish fifth.
Cortnee Vine came off the bench for the Courage at half-time.
The San Diego Wave is now officially out of playoff contention after losing 2-0 to Houston Dash. Bárbara Olivieri and Ramona Bachmann were on the scoresheet as the bottom-of-the-table side gave their fans something to cheer late in the season.
Emily van Egmond and Kaitlyn Torpey both started for the Wave – Torpey was substituted after 60 minutes.
Denmark
A stoppage-time winner for captain Winonah Heatley helped FC Nordsjælland get the three points and remain top of the table, defeating KoldingQ 1-0. It seemed as if it would be a frustrating night for the Danish champions, unable to find the breakthrough, until captain Heatley saved the day with the late goal.
Heatley started and played the full match for Nordsjælland.
Netherlands
Daniela Galic started her first league match in the Netherlands on the weekend, but it was a frustrating result for her side, as FC Twente drew 1-1 with Excelsior Rotterdam. Twente were unable to take advantage of Lynn Grownewegen’s 83rd-minute red card and had to settle for a draw.
Galic was withdrawn in the 63rd minute.
