The CommBank Matildas are set to create history, becoming the first football team to play at the new state-of-the-art Allianz Stadium in Sydney, when they host Canada tomorrow night.
The CommBank Matildas play their second game in their two-match series against the Olympic Champions, looking to bounce back from a narrow 1-0 defeat on Saturday afternoon in Brisbane.
Allianz Stadium will be the backdrop of the second encounter, with the newly-opened stadium set to welcome both sides that are set for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ next year.

This two-match series marks the first time Australia has played Canada on home soil in 14 years when the CommBank Matildas defeated the Canadian Women’s National Team, 2-1, at the old Sydney Football Stadium on 23 May 2008, the site of the brand-new Allianz Stadium.
Canada's Adriana Leon provided the match winner in the opening 11 minutes of the game in Brisbane, which saw a crowd of 25,016 at Suncorp Stadium.
Squad News
Head Coach Tony Gustavsson gave an update on player availability ahead of the game tomorrow night.
"At training today we tested some of the players in football, but also afterwards in some high-speed running and we will hear tonight how they responded to that," Gustavsson explained.

"Steph Catley is a question mark, we will decide that tonight. Caitlin Ford went through the training well, but we need to see how she responds tonight to that training. Tameka Yallop and Cortnee Vine both trained fully so hopefully, there are some more players available for the game tomorrow, but I won't know for certain until tonight."
Alanna Kennedy will be unavailable for tomorrow night's game, after going down in the first game against Canada with a hamstring injury. Scans have been conducted to see the extent of the injury to the defender, with hopes of a quick rehab in time for her upcoming WSL season with Manchester City.

Beverly Priestman spoke after her side's 1-0 win on Saturday, “I couldn’t be more proud because, whatever they faced, whether it be travel delays, injuries to the squad and all those sorts of things, but when the whistle went, they got down to business and they delivered. That makes me really proud.”
Canada's squad saw two players make their international debut, with Simi Awujo and Clarissa Larisey coming off the bench in Brisbane.
