Lincoln: As long as we stick to the process, results will come
CommBank Matildas goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln said that the team would continue to stick to the process, despite a disappointing loss to Panama in game one of their two-game series.
She was speaking to media after being introduced in the second half of the game in Bunbury to earn her second senior national team cap.

“At the end of the day, we know this is going to be a process, and [Head Coach] Joe [Montemurro] has that vision for us,” she said.
“As long as we stick to the process, results will start to turn our way.
“Credit to Panama, they were incredibly good today, and definitely put up a physical battle – they stopped us from gaining momentum on numerous occasions.
“There are a lot of learnings to take, and we keep focusing on the process, and backing Joe’s vision for the group.”
An injury to Teagan Micah early in the second half gave Lincoln some unexpected minutes in the game. She said that she savours any time on the pitch in a national team shirt.
“You relish any opportunity to get on the pitch,” she said.
“I’m so grateful. I just want to keep learning as much as I can, and making the most of these opportunities. I'll take as many as I can get.”
Soaking up everything she could was the key takeaway for the 20-year-old, who is also working under Montemurro for the first time in her career.
“It's been amazing to be in the group, and under Joe as well,” she said.
“I've just really tried to soak up as much of that as possible.”
Lincoln grew up in Armidale, New South Wales. She is aware of the importance of taking the game to regional centres like Bunbury, where the team played on Saturday.
“It's really cool when we get to go out to some more regional communities,” she said.
“I'm from a regional town myself, so I know how much this would mean. Despite the result, we're really happy that we got to get out to the community.
“It's amazing. We really appreciate everyone coming out, even though it hasn't been the best weather. It was an awesome turnout.”
With the quick turnaround to the second game, Lincoln said that the team would review the areas they could improve and carry those into Tuesday evening’s game in Perth.
“We'll review this game, take the lessons and try and turn it around and hopefully get a better result in Perth,” she said.
“But again, we're going to stick to our process and really back Joe's vision.”
