Larissa Crummer signs with SK Brann in Norway

Larissa Crummer has signed with the Norwegian side SK Brann Kvinner in the Toppserien, joining the reigning champions for the upcoming season.

The forward makes the move from Brisbane Roar in the Liberty A-League Women's, where she has scored four goals for the Roar this season. This marks Crummer's first move abroad since returning from a long-term leg injury, with the Australian having a stint in the USA with, OL Reign, then Seattle Reign.

SK Brann kicked off their title defence in the Toppserien last weekend, recording a 2-1 victory over Lyn Fotball to start their season. Fellow Australian, Tameka Yallop, played the full 90 minutes for Brann in their opener.

"I am incredibly happy to be here. I've only heard positive things about the club, and I'm looking forward to playing in Norway and getting to know the team," Crummer told brann.no

Since returning from injury, the forward has spent the last three seasons with Brisbane Roar, making 34 appearances for the side and finding the back of the net 13 times.

The opportunity to challenge herself with an overseas club was a chance that Crummer jumped at, explaining "Brann is a top team, and here I will always be challenged in training."

"I'm looking forward to it, because I don't feel that I've been challenged enough in the past," She continued.

Crummer will link up with fellow Aussie, Tameka Yallop, who signed for the side midway through last season from West Ham United. The midfielder, despite injured for the last half of the season, helped Brann to their second Norwegian Women's Cup and also lifting the Toppserien title for the second consecutive season.

"She is a powerhouse of a striker both in growth, power and top speed. She will give us greater width up front which makes us less vulnerable and which gives the coaching team far greater flexibility towards the different games" Sporting director Aleksander Olsen explained about the Crummer's signing.

Crummer could be in line to make her debut this weekend when Brann host Åsane in their home opener on Sunday at 12am AEST.
