It was an eventful night for Vine, with the media eager to hear her thoughts on scoring her maiden goal, plus one more, for the CommBank Matildas.

"It was the easiest goal you could get, but I'll take it as my first one," Vine laughed of her fifth-minute goal.

"The brace was nice as well, I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get a hattrick, but, next time," she continued. "I wanted to score coming into the Matildas and hopefully I can score a few more."

Another highlight of the match was midfielder Chloe Logarzo making her return to the CommBank Matildas squad more than 12 months after tearing her ACL. Vine shared how much having Logarzo back in the squad means to the team.

"Chloe has been out for a while now and it was a massive, massive loss when she did get injured," she said.

"Seeing her back on the field and getting some more minutes after being out with an ACL, it's amazing. You could tell how important it was, with everyone giving her big cuddles after the game and you could tell by her emotion, how much it meant to Chloe as well."

With so many of her teammates plying their trade in the European leagues with great success, Vine was asked if she had any plans to move abroad. She said that for the time being, her feet were firmly planted in Australia.

"I think it's up to the individual. My personal opinion is that you play your best football when you're enjoying it and at the moment, that's in Australia for me," she explained.

"That's not to say I won't be coming overseas anytime soon, but playing in Australia is working for me at the moment."

Cortnee says she's still getting used to the chants of "Vine Time" in the crowd and across social media, calling the attention surreal.

"Yeah, I'm still getting used to it," she laughed. It feels very so surreal to me. I'm living my dream at the moment. I've been wanting this since I was 12," she explained.

"Ever since I knew the Matildas existed, I always wanted to play, so to hear and see "Vine Time," is pretty cool."
