CommBank Junior Matildas dominate in first AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™ Qualifier

The CommBank Junior Matildas opened their AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™ Qualifying campaign with a commanding 22-0 win over the Northern Mariana Islands in Singapore on Monday night.

It was a dominant performance from start to finish, with Australia asserting control early through a goal to Claire Corbett in the opening minute and maintaining a strong lead throughout.

Izabella Rako led the way with four goals, while 13 of her teammates also found the back of the net in a well-rounded attacking display.

By half-time, Australia had built an unassailable lead, combining clinical finishing with unwavering pressure, which allowed their opponents little time on the ball.

Despite the scoreline, the team maintained discipline in their defensive structure, limiting Northern Mariana Islands to minimal attacking opportunities and keeping them scoreless by game's end.
