With both Australia and Canada confirming their squad for the upcoming two-match series in Brisbane and Sydney, we look at the connection between the two sides, with our Aussie players playing alongside and against members of the Canadian National team travelling down under.

Clare Polkinghorne, Katrina Gorry and Charli Grant x Sabrina D'Angelo at Vittsjö GIK
Our Aussie trio representing Vittsjö GIK in the OBOS Damallsvenskan play alongside Canadian shot-stopper D'Angelo, with the keeper making the move from North Carolina Courage in the NWSL to the Swedish league.
Polkinghorne and D'Angelo have been playing alongside one another at the club level since the Aussie joined the team back in the 2021 season, forming a strong connection at the back to help Vittsjö to eight wins so far this season.
Emily Van Egmond x Kailen Sheridan at San Diego Wave FC
Both players make up the inaugural squad for San Diego Wave FC, who have got off to a flying start in their opening season of the NWSL, contesting to lift the Championship trophy in their first season.
Van Egmond and Sheridan swapped the East Coast of the USA for the West Coast, with the Aussie joining from Orlando Pride while Sheridan signed for Wave after four seasons with NJ/NY Gotham FC, where she played alongside Matildas' skipper Sam Kerr.
Wave has recorded eight wins in their inaugural season, currently sitting in second place on 28 points. With Van Egmond appearing in every single minute of their campaign so far this season.
Sam Kerr x Jessie Fleming and Kadeisha Buchanan at Chelsea FC
Chelsea's star-studded side has players coming in from all over the world, with Matildas' skipper Sam Kerr playing alongside the Canadian duo of Jessie Fleming and Kadeisha Buchanan.

Buchanan joins Chelsea after spending the last five seasons with Lyon in the French league, bolstering Emma Hayes' defence as the Blues aim to make it four consecutive Women's Super League titles.
The trio all made appearances for Chelsea in their pre-season tournament in the USA, so are familiar with playing alongside one another.
Chloe Logarzo x Desiree Scott at Kansas City Current
Canadian Desiree Scott has been integral for Kansas City Current this season, becoming the second Canadian player to amass 10,00 NWSL minutes.
Kansas City looks on track to book a spot in their first NWSL playoffs, with the side on an 11-game unbeaten streak at the moment. Logarzo is yet to make an appearance this season for Current, still coming back from an ACL injury sustained last September. But has been training with the squad throughout the season.
Scott is the third-most capped Canadian coming to Australia, with Sophie Schmidt making 213 appearances for the senior national team and Christine Sinclair having 314 caps for the national team.
