Melbourne City 1 – 0 Melbourne Victory (aggregate: 2-0)
Premiers Melbourne City completed the job against Melbourne Victory on Saturday, easing past them 1-0.
A stunning strike from CommBank Young Matilda Shelby McMahon was the difference between the sides in the second leg. Victory had their chances, but were unable to find the breakthrough they needed, and could not find a goal with their 18 shots.
Holly McNamara and Leticia McKenna both started for Melbourne City and will be big parts of their attempt to do the double.
Wellington Phoenix 2 – 0 Brisbane Roar (aggregate: 3-2)
The Wellington Phoenix overcame the one-goal deficit from the first leg to defeat the Brisbane Roar 2-0 in front of a packed Porirua Park.
Makala Woods scored in the first half to level things, and despite a number of chances both ways – including one incredible save from Roar keeper Chloe Lincoln in the final moments of regulation time – the tie required extra time to be settled. It was Woods again who scored the decisive goal. The Phoenix would keep the clean sheet and become the first Kiwi side ever to advance to an A-Leagues Grand Final.
Lincoln started in goals for the Roar, while Tameka Yallop came off the bench at half-time.
