Michelle Heyman scored for Canberra in their final game before the international break as they moved to second on the ladder.
Elsewhere, Perth picked up a huge away win to elevate them to fifth, while the Central Coast Mariners and Brisbane Roar dropped out of the top six.

Melbourne Victory 1 – 1 Wellington Phoenix
The Wellington Phoenix came from behind to leave Melbourne with a valuable point.
The Phoenix had the better chances throughout the game, but when Rhianna Pollicina scored a penalty for Victory early in the second half, it looked as if that might be enough to secure three points. Wellington are made of tough stuff this season, however, and Makala Woods was on hand to tuck away the equaliser late in the match.
Victory finished the round in sixth, but has played one game more than the teams around them. The Phoenix are three points above them in fourth, but with two games in hand.
Central Coast Mariners 1 – 3 Melbourne City
Melbourne City remain on track for the premiership with a 3-1 victory over defending champions Central Coast Mariners.
Bryleeh Henry, Rebekah Stott and Aideen Keane were the goal scorers for City as they proved slightly too strong for the Mariners in Gosford. Izzy Gomez scored the Mariners’ goal.

Holly McNamara played 75 minutes for City and picked up the assist for the first goal.
Canberra United 3 – 0 Western Sydney Wanderers
Canberra United were too good for the Western Sydney Wanderers, defeating them 3-0 to bolster their finals chances.
American Josie Aulicino scored a brace either side of half-time before Michelle Heyman sealed the result in the 75th minute. Canberra move to second, three points away from City in first, while the Wanderers – in 10th – are all but out of the running for finals.

Heyman started and played 80 minutes in a positive performance before the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™.
Newcastle Jets 2 – 3 Perth Glory
Perth Glory came from behind twice against the Newcastle Jets to complete a remarkable comeback victory, sealing the important points 3-2.
Melina Ayres scored a contender for goal of the season for the Jets, but an equaliser to Clancy Westaway – followed by a winner from an unlikely source, Tijan McKenna – meant that it was Perth who went home happy. They finished the round in fifth.
Brisbane Roar 0 – 2 Adelaide United
Adelaide United finished the round with a 2-0 victory over the Brisbane Roar.
Emily Hodgson and Ella Tonkin were the goal scorers for the Reds as they overwhelmed the Roar throughout the fixture. The Roar kept themselves in it – with Chloe Lincoln making a total of seven saves, but ultimately could not hold out the red wave.
Lincoln started between the sticks for Brisbane. Tameka Yallop remains unavailable due to injury.
