Angel City FC were defeated 1-0 by KC Current. The Current dominated the opportunities throughout the game and finally found their breakthrough in the second half thanks to Beatriz Zaneratto Joao. Alanna Kennedy started at centre-back for Angel City.

North Carolina Courage came from behind to defeat the Houston Dash 2-1. Houston scored within the first minute of the game, but a red card to Sarah Puntigam saw the momentum shift in favour of the Courage. Goals from Jaedyn Shaw and Hannah Betfort secured the victory for North Carolina. Cortnee Vine started her third consecutive game before being substituted in the second half.

Portland Thorns defeated Chicago Stars 1-0 to seal a place in the top four heading into the midseason break. Pietra Tordin scored the goal in the second half that proved the difference between the two sides. Kaitlyn Torpey started at right-back for the Thorns while Mackenzie Arnold was an unused substitute in her first appearance in the matchday squad since picking up a leg injury that saw her miss the previous international window.

The NWSL will now take a midseason break, and will resume in early August. The Thorns head into the break in fourth, North Carolina in ninth, equal on points with Gotham FC in eighth, and Angel City in eleventh.
