Matildas Abroad Preview: Kerr hopes to continue positive start; Nevin's Malmö locked in close title race

Sam Kerr will hope to continue her positive return to competitive football when Chelsea take on Leicester City this weekend.

Elsewhere, Courtney Nevin's Malmö are locked in a title race in Sweden, and the end of the season nears closer in the NWSL.

England

Everton take on the London City Lionesses on Saturday, 4.30am AEST. The Lionesses are still looking for their first points in the WSL after a tricky first two games, while Everton will look to bounce back after last week’s defeat. Clare Wheeler will be available for Everton, while Alanna Kennedy will be available for London City.

Tottenham Hotspur will face a tough test to maintain their perfect start to the season when they face Manchester City on Saturday, 4.30am AEST. City will need to continue to accrue points as they hope to challenge for the title this season. Clare Hunt and Charli Grant are likely to be involved for Spurs after two clean sheets to start the campaign, while Mary Fowler is unavailable for City as she continues her rehabilitation for her ACL injury.

Chelsea will host Leicester City on Sunday, 9pm AEST. The Blues have started with two wins from two and will be heavy favourites against the Foxes. Ellie Carpenter and Sam Kerr will be available for Chelsea, Kerr likely from the bench once more as she continues to build match fitness. While Emily van Egmond will be hoping to build on her first goal, she scored last week for the Foxes.

West Ham travel to take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, 9pm AEST. The Hammers are yet to secure a point this season and will hope to do so against a Brighton side chasing their first win. Katrina Gorry will be available for West Ham.

Manchester United and Arsenal will face off in the headline match of the round on Sunday, 11.50pm AEST. Manchester United and Arsenal both have kicked off their season with back-to-back wins. Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley and Kyra Cooney-Cross will be available for the Gunners.

Sweden

Malmö travel to take on Alingsås on Saturday, 9pm AEST. Three points for Malmö against the bottom-of-the-table side are vital for keeping them in the title race. Courtney Nevin will be available for Malmö.

AIK Fotboll host Växjö DFF on Saturday, 9pm AEST. Växjö will be looking over their shoulder, as they are only three points away from the relegation play-off spot, while AIK are comfortably midtable and are looking to finish the season strong. Jada Whyman will be available for AIK.

Vittsjö GIK take on Norrköping, also on Saturday, 9pm AEST. Vittsjö have the chance to leapfrog their opponents with three points and will be hoping to do so on Saturday. Daniela Galic will be available for Vittsjö as she hopes to continue her fine form.

Finally, Kristianstads DFF take on Brommapojkarna on Saturday, 10pm AEST. Brommapojkarna will be fighting for three points to help them avoid relegation danger while Kristianstads need to keep winning if they are any chance of finishing in the top three. Remy Siemsen and Amy Sayer will be available for Kristianstads.

United States

NWSL

The North Carolina Courage take on Orlando Pride in a play-off six-pointer on Saturday, 10am AEST. The Courage currently sit one spot outside the top eight and will be hoping for a win to reel in Orlando, who are currently seventh. Cortnee Vine will be available for the Courage.

The Portland Thorns host the San Diego Wave on Sunday, 12pm AEST. Both teams are currently on 30 points – along with Gotham FC and Seattle Reign - and a win for either would be a huge boost to finish in the top four. Mackenzie Arnold and Kaitlyn Torpey are available for the Thorns.

USL

Morgan Aquino will be aiming to help DC Power FC continue their perfect run to the season when they host Brooklyn FC on Friday, at 9am AEST. Aquino made some crucial saves in DC's 0-0 draw with Lexington SC. 

Germany

Frauen-Bundesliga

TSG Hoffenheim take on Werder Bremen on Sunday, 10pm AEST. Hoffenheim are currently two wins from two while Werder Bremen are coming off the back of a comprehensive victory last week. Jamilla Rankin has been playing in the centre of defence for Hoffenheim and will be available again this week.

Eintracht Frankfurt will look to bounce back from defeat last week when they take on RB Leipzig on Tuesday, 2am AEST. Hayley Raso will hope to earn her first start for Frankfurt.

2.Frauen-Bundesliga

SC Sand take on Ingolstadt on Sunday, 10pm AEST. Sand are currently top of the table and will hope to keep it that way with a win. Alana Murphy will be available for Sand.

France

Lyon takes on Saint-Étienne on Saturday, 11.30pm AEST. The French giants will hope to continue their positive start to the season. Teagan Micah will be available and hopes to make her competitive debut for Lyon.

Italy

Wini Heatley's AS Roma take on Lazio for a place in the Serie A Women's Cup. Roma had a perfect record in the group stage of the tournament that saw them finish at the top of Group C, while Lazio finished top of Group A. 

Mexico

Emily Gielnik's CF Monterrey ran riot against Alianza in the CONCACAF W Champions Cup on Thursday, beating the team from El Salvador 8-0. Gielnik picked up an assist off the bench. Rayadas will return to Liga MX Femenil action next Tuesday when they take on Pachuca at 12:10pm AEST, with only 6 points separating the two sides. 

Canada

Kahli Johnson's Calgary Wild FC suffered a late defeat to Ottawa Rapid FC. Both sides found the back of the net in the first half, and the score looked destined to remain at a deadlock, before a 93rd-minute match-winner saw Ottawa snatch all three points. Johnson came off the bench in the 82nd minute in the defeat.
