Football Australia has confirmed that CommBank Matildas’ midfielder Chloe Logarzo will be unavailable for the final international of 2024 against Chinese Taipei in Geelong.
Logarzo was diagnosed with concussion following a collision in the 25th minute of Wednesday night’s opening fixture against Chinese Taipei at Melbourne’s AAMI Park. Following subsequent assessment, Logarzo recovered from her symptoms however has been withdrawn from the squad in accordance with the Concussion Graduated Return to Play Protocols.
Melbourne City FC midfielder Laura Hughes has earned her first senior national team call up as Logarzo’s replacement in the squad. Another graduate of the Australian U-23 Women’s National Team, Hughes is a mainstay of City’s 2023/24 Ninja A-League Premiership winning side and the current 2024/25 season League leaders.
