CommBank Matildas Head Coach Joe Montemurro has called in three uncapped players to face Germany and Haiti, while three familiar faces return to the 26-player squad.
Tori Tumeth (Vancouver Rise), Courtney Newbon (Melbourne Victory) and Hana Lowry (Vålerenga IF) will be looking to make their senior debut when they come into the squad for the two-match friendly series in Europe.
First Time Call-Ups
Tumeth comes into the squad after a good start to her tenure with Vancouver, scoring for the side in their 2-2 draw with Montréal Roses FC. The defender made the move to Canada after six years in the A-League Women's, starting out her professional career with Melbourne City. She then made the move to Sydney FC ahead of the 2023/24 season, helping the Sky Blues to the 2024 Grand Final title.
The defender was the captain of the Australian U23 side that claimed the ASEAN Women’s Championship title in Vietnam last year, helping Australia beat Myanmar in the decider 1-0.
Courtney Newbon comes into the squad after a strong 2025/26 season in the A-League Women's, claiming the Goalkeeper of the Year award. This is the shotstopper's first senior call-up.
The goalkeeper helped Victory to a spot in the final series, going down to the eventual winners and city rivals, Melbourne City. Her A-League career started with Western Sydney Wanderers in the 2019/20 season, making 8 appearances across two seasons with the Wanderers.
Newbon then signed for Perth Glory for the 2021/22 season, as well as spending a season with Central Coast Mariners for the 2023/24 season, their return to the league, where she made four appearances and kept one clean sheet.
Her time with Melbourne Victory saw her keep 11 clean sheets, the most for any club during the season, in 2023/24 when Victory made it to the final, going down 4-2 on penalties to the Central Coast Mariners.
Hana Lowry is the third player to come in for their first senior camp, although this is not her first senior call-up. The midfielder was first called up back in November 2024 ahead of Australia's matches with Brazil and Chinese Taipei, but tore her ACL on the eve of camp starting and was sidelined for a year.
The young midfielder started her career with hometown club Perth Glory, making her first appearance during the 2019/20 season. Following 72 appearances, 11 goals and five seasons with Perth, the midfielder joined Sydney FC ahead of the 2024/25 season. Her form with Sydney saw her called up to the CommBank Matildas' side before suffering an ACL injury.
She then made the move abroad for the first time, signing for Vålerenga in Norway for the 2026 season, scoring on her debut in the side's 7-1 victory over FK Bodø/Glimt.
Returning players
Three players make their return to the squad, with Alexia Apostolakis, Daniela Galic and Charlotte Grant earning their first call-ups of the year. Apostolakis was last in camp during Australia's four-match series in Perth in June/July 2025, where she made her debut against Panama.
Since then, she captained the CommBank Young Matildas at their AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup in April, and helped Melbourne City to the domestic double, claiming the premiership and championship.
The defender made the move abroad after a successful season with Melbourne City, joining Bristol City for the WSL2 season.
Daniela Galic earns a recall to camp after a great season in Sweden, with the midfielder last in camp during the SheBelieves Cup in February 2025. Her 2026 season with Vittsjö GIK has seen her score five goals across 19 matches.
Charlotte Grant is another familiar face who has been called back into camp, with the defender last in a senior camp during the October 2025 window against Wales and England. A knee injury sustained with Tottenham Hotspur cruelly saw her miss out on the squad for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup.
After spending the last two and a half years in the Women's Super League with Tottenham Hotspur, Grant signed with Malmö FF on a three-year contract in July.
