Sharn Freier has signed a new contract with Brisbane Roar, which will see the forward continue her stay in Australia, extending her contract at the club after signing a two-year deal.
Freier, who signed for Roar in the 2020/21 season, has had an off-season to remember, making her senior debut for the Matildas in April against Mexico, scoring the opener in Australia's 'B' International with Canada and making her Olympic debut against Germany.
Freier took out four awards at Roar’s annual Season Awards Night, including Player of the Year (Kate McShea Medal), Young Player of the Year, Player’s Player and Fans’ Player of the Year.
The forward talked about the contract renewal, “I’m excited to be re-signing with Roar. Brisbane is my home, and I love playing here in front of the amazing fans that show up each week,”
“It’s always a privilege to wear the orange jersey and I’m excited to be able to get the opportunity to help the team build from last season,” she said to brisbaneroar.com.au.
After finishing the 2023/24 season with 2 goals and 5 assists, starting in all 22 games for Roar, the young forward will be looking to build on the learnings she has gained in the off-season to help Roar for the 2024/25 season.
