Sharn Freier has returned to the Ninja A-League for the upcoming 2025/26 season, signing with hometown club Brisbane Roar on loan from Frauen-Bundesliga VfL Wolfsburg.
Freier returns to Brisbane Roar after her 2024/25 season was cut short with the Roar following an ankle injury before she departed for Germany. The forward made 11 appearances last season for the Roar, scoring twice and picking up four assists.

The forward's stint with Wolfsburg saw her score in their pre-season 3-2 victory over Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and she was on the bench for the side's DFB-Supercup Frauen final defeat to Bayern Munich.
"Unfortunately, personal reasons have left me with no choice but to return to Australia for the first time."
"I would like to thank the coaching staff and my fellow players for the support I received during my time in Wolfsburg. Even though this is ending sooner than expected, I am very grateful for the opportunity I got here. I wish the team all the best for the upcoming season."
“I’m really happy to be back and pulling on the Brisbane Roar shirt again." Freier said about returning to the Brisbane Roar
“Representing a club and fanbase who have always been there for me means so much and I can’t wait get back to playing for them this season.”
Freier will link up with fellow CommBank Matildas Tameka Yallop, Chloe Lincoln and Grace Kuilamu ahead of the upcoming season.
Brisbane Roar kick off their 2025/26 season against Melbourne Victory at Imperial Corp Stadium on November 1st at 5pm.
