Perth International Football Cup Preview: Aussies go head-to-head in pre-season tour

The Perth International Football Cup kicks off tonight in Perth, with our Aussies going head-to-head in the opening game as Manchester City take on Leicester City.

Manchester City V Leicester City

Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy’s Manchester City kick off their pre-season with a test against Courtney Nevin’s Leicester City. The two sides last met in Round 13 of the 2023/24 Women's Super League season, with Manchester taking all bragging rights with a 2-0 win.

Manchester will be looking to test out a few new signings in the game, with fans getting to see Netherlands' Vivianne Miedema, and Japan's trio of Risa Shimizu, Aoba Fujino & Ayaka Yamashita pull on the City blue for the first time. Meanwhile, for the Foxes, Ruby Mace made her return to Leicester, signing from Manchester City. 

West Ham United V Paris Saint-Germain

Katrina Gorry’s West Ham United will take on Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday night during the Perth International Football Cup. Hammers could use this game as an opportunity to introduce Kinga Szemik in between the sticks, with the Polish International signing during July after West Ham saw Mackenzie Arnold depart after four seasons with the Hammers.
