A Melbourne Derby awaits for the first of the two semi-finals on the weekend.
Melbourne Victory just managed to scrape into the top six on goal difference but accounted for Canberra United in the elimination final comfortably. Under Jeff Hopkins, Victory are a side that can never be underestimated at this stage of the season and with the added incentive of a derby, will back themselves to accumulate a first leg lead on Saturday.
Premiers Melbourne City come into this game off a long break and will no doubt be counting on plenty of support of their own for the first leg. Holly McNamara and Leticia McKenna will be available for City, this being McKenna’s first club game since making her CommBank Matildas debut.
Brisbane Roar v Wellington Phoenix

Brisbane Roar will be hoping to carry their momentum from last week’s elimination final victory over Adelaide United into the first leg of their semi-final against the Wellington Phoenix.
Spencer Park sold out within hours for Brisbane’s home leg, the crowd getting a taste of what they can expect from the Roar in their 3-0 win last week. Tameka Yallop came off the bench that game and will be available again this week, while Chloe Lincoln will be hoping for another clean sheet between the sticks.
The Phoenix come into the game having had an extra week to prepare. After a groundbreaking season that saw them make finals for the first time and finish second to boot, they’ll be hoping to leave Brisbane with a positive result before making their home ground advantage count in the second leg.
