The Glory travel east to kick off their season as both sides look to have a positive start to the campaign.
There is reason for optimism for both teams. The Jets will be anchored by the experienced Natasha Prior, Cassidy Davis and Libby Copus-Brown, who will complement exciting local talent. A new-look Western Sydney Wanderers take on a Melbourne Victory side who are always competing for the title.
Last year's wooden spooners Western Sydney have almost entirely overhauled their squad from last season. Most notably, the arrival of Rhianna Pollicina and Sofia Sakalis - both from Victory - will add goals and creativity in midfield.
A successful campaign for Victory will be predicated on their defence, and fans will be delighted to welcome back Philippines international Angie Beard to bolster their backline. Courtney Newbon is expected to start between the sticks in her return after her first CommBank Matildas call-up this month.

The Roar and the Mariners clash in round one in what is set to be an evenly matched and fascinating contest.
Brisbane lost the experience of Tameka Yallop in the offseason but have talent all across the board. CommBank Young Matilda Daisy Brown impressed last campaign, and Philippines international Katrina Guillou is a welcome addition to midfield. They have also retained Chloe Lincoln, who is expected to start in goal. Grace Kuilamu and Sharn Freier remain unavailable for the first game as they continue to rehabilitate knee injuries.
The Mariners retained key players from last campaign and recruited smartly, most notably adding Morgan Aquino in goals. All eyes will be on CommBank Young Matilda Peta Trimis, who had a breakout season in 2025/26 and is set to combine with fellow youngster Skye Halmarick up top.
Wellington Phoenix v Melbourne City

A grand final rematch kicks off the season for these two sides, and it is set to be a massive occasion in Wellington.
Fans will get a first look at Tameka Yallop in a Wellington Phoenix shirt, taking on one of her former sides in round one. The Phoenix have otherwise retained the bulk of their squad who made it all the way to the final last season, including young star Pia Vlok and reliable goalscorer Makala Woods.
The defending premiers and champions, Melbourne City, had a large number of departures in the off-season - but that doesn't make their squad any less impressive. They have bolstered their team with the likes of Jessika Nash and Cortnee Vine, as well as league stalwarts like Taylor Ray, Melina Ayres and Momo Hayashi. They will take some beating this season.
Sydney FC v Adelaide United

It's a new era for both of these sides and a first look at how they might shape up for the 2026/27 season.
Sydney start the season with a number of unavailabilities. Returning goalkeeper Jada Whyman is still recovering from a knee injury, while the likes of Indiana Dos Santos and Sarah Hunter are injured as well. However, they will be bolstered by the return of captain Natalie Tobin - after missing last season due to parental leave - and will hope they can turn their fortunes around with a full preseason under new Head Coach James Slaveski.
Several mainstays of Adelaide United over the last few seasons departed in the offseason, including Emily Condon, Izzy Hodgson and Dylan Holmes. It leaves an air of mystery around the Reds this season. Led by captain Adriana Taranto and with Ilona Melegh between the sticks, it will be fascinating to see how they perform in the opening round.
