Elsewhere, Jamilla Rankin scored her first goal for TSG Hoffenheim, while Jessika Nash helped Sassuolo keep a clean sheet against Juventus in her Serie A debut.

Manchester United took the first points off Chelsea this season, holding them to a 1-1 draw on Saturday (AEST). The result keeps Chelsea at the top of the table by one point, while both teams remain the only two undefeated after five rounds. Ellie Carpenter started for Chelsea while Sam Kerr came off the bench in the second half.
The second game in Manchester for the weekend saw Manchester City defeat Arsenal 3-2. The Gunners came back to equalise twice before Iman Beney won the game for City in the 88th minute. Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord both started for Arsenal, while Kyra Cooney-Cross was a late substitute for her first minutes of the season. Mary Fowler remains unavailable for City as she continues her ACL rehabilitation.
Leicester City drew 1-1 against Everton. Ornella Vignola scored for Everton early in the second half, but Noemie Mouchon ensured the Foxes would not go home empty-handed. Emily van Egmond and Clare Wheeler started for Leicester and Everton, respectively, both in midfield.
West Ham remain pointless to start the season, falling 2-0 to Aston Villa. Kirsty Hanson and Lynn Wilms both scored stunners for Villa to lift them to three points. Katrina Gorry started and played the full game in midfield.
Tottenham Hotspur remained in the top three with a 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. A goal for Cathinka Tandberg separated the two sides in an even game. Clare Hunt started the game for Spurs while Charli Grant was a second-half substitute. Charlie Rule played the full game for the Seagulls.
London City Lionesses picked up their second win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Liverpool. Elena Linari scored a late penalty to secure all three points for the newly promoted side. Alanna Kennedy was a late substitute for the Lionesses.
Sweden
An early Hammarby goal saw them scrape past AIK Fotboll 1-0. It was a vital win for Hammarby to keep within one point of the top of the table, but AIK – as they have done all season – proved no pushovers. Jada Whyman was in goals for AIK.
Amy Sayer scored and assisted within a few minutes in the second half to see Kristianstads DFF defeat Vittsjö GIK 2-1. Kristianstads were trailing at half-time before Sayer’s goal, with the midfielder able to turn the game on its head. Sayer and Remy Siemsen both started for Kristianstads, while Daniela Galic started for Vittsjö.
Malmö FF overcame Rosengård 2-1 to keep themselves in the title race. Sara Fornes’ first-half brace was enough to secure the three points. Courtney Nevin started and played the full game at left-back.

North Carolina Courage fell 3-1 to Racing Louisville. Emma Sears scored a brace for Louisville as, despite having fewer shots and possession, they made the most of their chances. Cortnee Vine was an unused substitute for the Courage.
The Portland Thorns defeated Bay FC 2-1 in a result that saw them rise back up to fourth. Mackenzie Arnold started in goal for the Thorns while Kaitlyn Torpey came off the bench late in the win.
USL
Carolina Ascent defeated DC Power 3-2 in an exciting back-and-forth game. Carolina took an early two-goal lead before DC Power dragged them back early in the second half. Carolina’s Alyssa Walker scored the winner in the 84th minute. Morgan Aquino started in goals for DC.

Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Carl Zeiss Jena 3-1. Elisa Senß scored a brace as Frankfurt secured their third win of the season. Hayley Raso was a late substitute for Frankfurt.
Jamilla Rankin scored her first goal for TSG Hoffenheim as they defeated Hamburger SV 4-1. Hoffenheim dominated the game as expected and sits in third, behind powerhouses Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg. Rankin started and played the full game at left-back.

SC Sand picked up a massive victory, defeating Warbeyen 7-1. There were seven different goal scorers as Sand ran riot. Alana Murphy played the full game for Sand.

AS Roma got their league season off to the perfect start, defeating Parma 4-0. It was a game that they were on top of from start to finish as they look to challenge for the league title this season. Winonah Heatley was an unused substitute for Roma.
Sassuolo earned a fantastic point to start their season, holding Juventus to a scoreless draw. Jessika Nash was at the heart of their defence, starting and playing 90 minutes, while Jacynta Galabadaarachchi was an unused substitute.
Lazio defeated Como 2-1 in their first game of the season. Veronica Bernardi was the scorer of the goal that proved to be only a consolation in the 89th minute. Alex Chidiac was an unused substitute for Como.
Serie B
Como 1907 defeated Frosinone 4-0 to continue their fantastic start to the season and to elevate themselves to first on the table. Chloe Berryhill was part of the comfortable victory.
France
Lyon comfortably accounted for Lens, defeating them 8-1. Liana Joseph scored a hat-trick as Lens had no answers for the defending champions. Teagan Micah was an unused substitute.
Canada
Calgary Wild were defeated 2-1 by AFC Toronto. Toronto scored twice in the first half, and Calgary were unable to come back and rescue a point. Kahli Johnson continued expanding her minutes after her injury, coming on at half-time.
