Sam Kerr came off the bench in the NWSL to set up a dramatic late winner for Gotham FC on the weekend. Elsewhere, there were friendlies played across Europe, with Jamilla Rankin scoring for Frankfurt while Izzy Gomez and Charli Grant made their debuts in Sweden.

United States
Gotham FC came from behind to secure a stunning 3-2 victory over the Seattle Reign. The Reign led 2-0 until the 81st minute, when an Esther Gonzalez brace and a winner from Rose Lavelle in the 97th minute snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Sam Kerr came off the bench in the 63rd minute to assist Lavelle’s goal and break the all-time record for NWSL goals and assists in the process.
Elsewhere, the Portland Thorns were defeated 2-1 by the Denver Summit. Mackenzie Arnold made four saves but was unable to prevent the loss.
The results mean that Kerr’s Gotham are second on the table, while Arnold’s Thorns are fourth.
Sweden
Friendlies were held across Sweden this week as teams prepare to return from their midseason break.
Rosengard defeated Danish side FC Copenhagen 3-2. Remy Siemsen and Bryleeh Henry started while Izzy Gomez came off the bench. The match marked club debuts for Henry and Gomez.
Malmö FF took on another Danish side, Brøndby, and drew 1-1. Amy Sayer and Courtney Nevin started while Charli Grant came off the bench to make her club debut.
Germany
Eintracht Frankfurt began their season with a couple of friendlies as they prepare for their UWCL qualifiers in early August. They defeated Mainz 7-2 midweek, a game in which Jamilla Rankin scored on her club debut, and defeated SC Sand 3-1 on the weekend. Hayley Raso also featured in the games.
