WSL

Arsenal continued their shaky start to the season, drawing 1-1 with Birmingham City. The result means that they are eighth after six games, with only one win and three draws. Kyra Cooney-Cross played the full match in midfield – making three key passes and eight progressive carries – while Caitlin Foord came off the bench in the second half. Steph Catley was an unused substitute.

Ellie Carpenter scored a brace as Chelsea put six past Tottenham Hotspur in a commanding second-half performance. It was 1-1 at half-time, but the Blues accelerated away after the break, with Spurs having no answer to Chelsea’s creativity. The goals were Carpenter’s second and third in six league games this season. Chelsea are undefeated so far, with five wins and a draw. Clare Hunt was unavailable for Spurs with injury.

The London City Lionesses defeated Everton 2-1. They raced to a two-goal advantage in the first half before a Holly McNamara assisted goal for Hannah Cain gave Everton hope. Ultimately, the Lionesses were too strong. McNamara played the full game while Clare Wheeler was substituted out in the second half.

Leah Davidson scored her first goal in the WSL, but it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat for Charlton, who fell 3-1 to Manchester United. Emily van Egmond started alongside Davidson before being substituted out in the second half.

Manchester City defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 to maintain their perfect start to the season. Khadija Shaw scored a brace as City raced to a three-goal lead after 18 minutes. The Seagulls pulled two back, but it wasn’t enough to walk away with a point. Mary Fowler was a second-half substitute for City. Charlie Rule was unavailable for Brighton.

League Cup

Bristol City drew 1-1 with Southampton, securing the extra point with a 4-3 penalty win. Alexia Apostolakis started and played the full game for Bristol.

Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United played out a scoreless draw before Forest were defeated on penalties. Leticia McKenna and Alana Murphy were both late second-half substitutes for Forest. McKenna took and scored the first penalty of the shootout.

Sweden

Bryleeh Henry picked up a pair of assists and Remy Siemsen was on the scoresheet as FC Rosengård secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Vittsjö GIK. The result means that they are three points clear of the relegation playoff, with four games remaining in the season. Siemsen, Henry, and Isabel Gomez all started for Rosengård while Daniela Galic started up top for Vittsjö.

Malmö FF defeated AIK Fotboll 3-2. Amy Sayer scored the team’s third goal in the first half, and they held onto their advantage despite a fast-finishing AIK. Courtney Nevin, Charli Grant and Sayer all started for Malmö as they gave themselves a seven-point buffer between themselves in third and Kristianstad in fourth.

United States

Gotham FC lost 1-0 to Washington Spirit. The result means that they are only one point clear on top of the table, with two regular season games remaining. Sam Kerr started and played the full game for Gotham.

Portland Thorns drew 2-2 with Bay FC. They are now two points clear of North Carolina Courage in ninth, but will need to pick up results in their final two games to secure a playoff place. Mackenzie Arnold was in goal for Portland.

Germany

Eintracht Frankfurt drew 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen. The result keeps them in third, one point above Leverkusen. Hayley Raso was a second-half substitute while Jamilla Rankin was not in the matchday squad.

The Vancouver Rise are hanging onto a top four place, but only on goal difference, after falling 5-2 to the Ottawa Rapid. They took a two-goal lead in the first half, but five unanswered goals saw them defeated. Tori Tumeth played the full game in defence for Vancouver.

Norway
