The WSL returns this weekend with Manchester City sitting pretty six points on top of the table at the midway point.
Elsewhere, AS Roma will hope for Cup revenge against Juventus as they face off in the Italian Super Cup, while Lyon get their 2026 underway in the French Cup.

England
The new year kicks off with a blockbuster clash between Arsenal and Manchester United on Saturday, 11.30pm AEDT. Both teams will be hoping for three points to keep pace with the top of the table, but importantly, a win for United would see them leapfrog the Gunners into third. Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord will be available for Arsenal while Kyra Cooney-Cross is unavailable due to personal leave.
Chelsea plays West Ham in a London Derby on Sunday, 11pm AEDT. The Blues will be heavy favourites against a West Ham side who have only won once in 11 games. Sam Kerr and Ellie Carpenter will be available for Chelsea while Katrina Gorry will be available for West Ham.
Tottenham Hotspur will hope to carry their early season form into 2026 when they play Leicester City on Sunday, 11pm AEDT. If results go their way, a win for Tottenham could see them finish the round equal third. Clare Hunt and Charli Grant will be available for Spurs while Emily van Egmond is expected to line up for Leicester.
Aston Villa hosts Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, 11pm AEDT. It is expected to be an even game between two sides hoping to improve on what they produced last year. Charlie Rule will be available for Brighton.
Manchester City will hope to maintain or extend their lead on top of the table when they take on Everton on Sunday, 11pm AEDT. City are six points clear while Everton only managed eight points from their first 11 games. Mary Fowler is getting closer to her return to football, while Clare Wheeler will be available for Everton.
The final game of the round will be Liverpool hosting the London City Lionesses on Monday, 1.30am AEDT. Liverpool did not win at all in the first half of the season and will hope to turn that around as soon as possible, while the Lionesses – under new management – will want to start 2026 with a bang. Alanna Kennedy will be available for London City.

Lyon take on Saint-Etienne in the Coupe de France Feminine on Sunday, 12.30am AEDT. Lyon are heavy favourites for the fixture but will be hyper aware that in cup football, anything can happen. Teagan Micah will be available for Lyon.
Italy
AS Roma will be out for revenge against Juventus when they play the Super Cup Final on Monday, 1am AEDT. Juventus earlier defeated Roma in the pre-season Cup Final. If they succeed, it will be Roma’s first trophy of the season. Winonah Heatley will be available for Roma.
