Matildas Abroad Preview: Four teams featuring Aussies go head-to-head in midweek action

Midweek action across the WSL in England with Chelsea and Arsenal looking to remain in the top three race, with Lydia Williams hosting her former club.

Sam Kerr's Chelsea will be looking to build on their dominant 7-0 win over the weekend, and move within one point of Manchester United when they host Courtney Nevin and Remy Siemsen's Leicester City.

The Blues recorded a crucial win over Everton that saw them move to second place on the ladder, while the Foxes' last outing in the WSL saw them go down 1-0 to Arsenal.

Leicester, aiming to get all the points they can to avoid relegation, will have their last meeting in the back of their mind, with Emma Hayes' side recording an 8-0 win in December.

Nevin played the whole game in the Foxes' defeat to Arsenal, while Siemsen came off the bench. Meanwhile, Kerr scored a goal against Everton in the fixture over the weekend, however, was forced off after due to injury with Hayes explaining before the Leicester game "On Sunday we took her off as a precaution but she's fine for tomorrow."

This game will kick off on Thursday morning at 4:00 am AEST.   

Next up, Lydia Williams' Brighton & Hove Albion will host Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley's Arsenal, with the shot-stopper taking on her former side. 

Brighton will be looking to build on their 1-0 win over West Ham over the weekend, while Arsenal recorded a 1-0 win over Leicester City in midweek action last week.

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 4-0 victory for the Gunners back in September.

Williams was a late exclusion in Brighton's last game, being initially named in the Starting XI but withdrawn during warmups after an injury. While Catley was also forced off due to injury in the Gunners' last outing. 

This game will kick off on Thursday morning at 4:30 am AEST.
