UEFA Women’s Champions League
It was far from straightforward, but Arsenal managed to defeat FC Twente 1-0. Beth Mead’s first-half goal was enough to see the Gunners secure all three points. Kyra Cooney-Cross and Steph Catley both started for Arsenal, while Caitlin Foord came in as a second-half substitute.
Lyon defeated Manchester United 3-0. Melchie Dumornay scored a second-half brace as the most successful team in European football ensured pre-match expectations would not be overturned. Teagan Micah was an unused substitute for Lyon.
Chelsea made light work of AS Roma, running out 6-0 victors. It was some measure of catharsis for the Blues after failing to score for the first time in 66 league games over the weekend. Sam Kerr started for Chelsea and picked up an assist, while Ellie Carpenter was an unused substitute. Winonah Heatley started for Roma in a tough day for her side.

England
Everton take on Arsenal on Saturday, 11pm AEDT, high after their victory against Chelsea last week. They know just what they can do against top teams and will hope to catch an Arsenal side that is not performing at its best. Clare Wheeler is available for Everton, while Kyra Cooney-Cross, Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord will be out to get three points for Arsenal.
West Ham host Liverpool on Sunday, 10.55pm AEDT. The teams currently sit second-bottom, and bottom of the table respectively, and need every point they can get – a win for either side would be massive. Katrina Gorry will be available for West Ham.
Manchester City and Aston Villa clash on Sunday, 10.55pm AEDT. City find themselves comfortably six points clear at the top of the WSL table and will be favourites to solidify their status against Villa. Mary Fowler remains close to a return, but is still unavailable for City.
Brighton & Hove Albion will take on Chelsea on Sunday, 10.55pm AEDT. Brighton will fancy their chances against a Chelsea side who have sometimes looked vulnerable this season, although they would have taken plenty of confidence from their midweek UWCL thrashing of AS Roma. Charlie Rule will be available for Brighton, while Sam Kerr and Ellie Carpenter will line up against her for Chelsea.
Leicester City and London City Lionesses round out the games on Sunday, 10.55pm AEDT. Both sides are looking to bounce back after losses in a game very challenging to predict. Emily van Egmond and Alanna Kennedy will be available for their respective sides.
Finally, Tottenham Hotspur travel to take on Manchester United on Monday, 1.30am AEDT. Spurs are still only one point away from the top three and a win against United could see them well and truly in European qualification contention. Clare Hunt will be available for Spurs, while Charli Grant has been ruled out until the new year with injury.

France
Lyon takes on Le Havre on Sunday, 3am AEDT. The league leaders are expected to keep up their perfect league record so far. Teagan Micah will be available for Lyon.

Eintracht Frankfurt were defeated 5-3 by FC Nurnberg midweek. It was a high-tempo, exciting game for the neutral, but Frankfurt will be ruing the nature of some of the goals conceded. Hayley Raso was a second-half substitute for Frankfurt.
They will have the chance to bounce back on Tuesday, 4am AEDT, when they take on Union Berlin.
TSG Hoffenheim, meanwhile, travel to take on RB Leipzig on Monday, 4.30am AEDT. They are currently four points away from Bremen in third and will go into the game against Leipzig as slight favourites. Jamilla Rankin will be available for Hoffenheim.
