Manchester City comprehensively defeated Leicester City 6-0. Vivianne Miedema scored a brace in a ruthless display from the league leaders. Mary Fowler was unavailable for City as she recovers from a slight knock at training, while Emily van Egmond started and played the full game for Leicester. The Foxes remain bottom of the table by one point, but with a game in hand.
Manchester United came from behind to defeat London City Lionesses 2-1. Jess Park and Millie Turner were the goal scorers for United as they maintained second place on the table. Alanna Kennedy started and played the full match for the Lionesses in the heart of defence.
Everton secured an important three points against West Ham, walking away 1-0 victors. Honoka Hayashi scored the only goal of the game early in the first half, and the Hammers could not overcome the deficit. Clare Wheeler played the full game in Everton’s midfield. Katrina Gorry was not named in West Ham’s matchday squad.
Chelsea have kept their noses in the top three with a 2-0 victory over Liverpool. Sjoeke Nusken and Lauren James were the goal scorers on either side of the half-time break. Ellie Carpenter started for Chelsea while Sam Kerr was a second-half substitute in her 150th game for the club.
Tottenham Hotspur came out on top in a raucous affair with Aston Villa, defeating them 7-3. Cathinka Tandberg scored a brace for Spurs in a game where they had six different scorers. Clare Hunt started and played the full game for Tottenham, but will miss next week due to an accumulation of yellow cards. Charli Grant remains unavailable with a knee injury.
The game that was scheduled between Brighton & Hove Albion and Arsenal was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
WSL2
Newcastle United defeated Portsmouth 2-0 to go equal on points with Bristol City in third. Emily Murphy and Beth Lumsden were the goalscorers for the Magpies as they gave their promotion chances a massive boost. Kaitlyn Torpey started and played the full game for Newcastle.
Sweden
The first round of the Swedish Cup took place on the weekend to mark the first competitive fixtures in Sweden for the year.
AIK Fotboll defeated Gefle 2-1. Gefle led for most of the game before two second-half goals secured three points for AIK. Jada Whyman was not listed in the matchday squad.
A stoppage-time equaliser for FC Rosengård meant that they shared the spoils 1-1 with Vittsjö GIK. Daniela Galic started for Vittsjö, while Remy Siemsen played the full game up top for Rosengård.
Malmö FF was defeated by Piteå IF 3-2. Malmö scored first, but were overran in the second half. Amy Sayer started for her new club. Courtney Nevin was not listed in the matchday squad.
France
Lyon defeated Dijon 4-0 in the French League Cup semi-finals. Ada Hegerberg scored a first-half brace to lift them to victory. Teagan Micah was unavailable for the matchday squad.
Germany
Hamburger SV shocked TSG Hoffenheim on the weekend, defeating them 4-0. The result saw Hamburger lift above the relegation places while Hoffenheim slipped out of European qualification contention. Jamilla Rankin was a second-half substitute for Hoffenheim.
It was a better result for Hayley Raso’s Eintracht Frankfurt, who defeated Carl Zeiss Jena 4-1. Geraldine Reuteler scored a hat-trick for the side as they rose to fourth with the win. Raso was an unused substitute.
Italy
Alex Chidiac was on the scoresheet as Como defeated Sassuolo 2-0. Chidiac scored in the first half before Nadine Nischler sealed the result with a goal in the second. Chidiac started for Como, while Jacynta Galabadaarachchi was a second-half substitute for Sassuolo. Jessika Nash was unused on Sassuolo’s bench.
AS Roma slightly wobbled again in the title race, drawing 2-2 with Napoli. They raced to a two-goal lead before they were pegged back before half-time. Winonah Heatley started and played the full game for Roma.
United States
DC Power drew 1-1 with Tampa Bay Sun. The result sees them drop to eighth, but, in such a close league, they are only three points from fourth – and with three games on hand to chase a playoff spot down. Morgan Aquino started in goals for DC.
