Jessika Nash signs for U.S. Sassuolo Calcio in the Serie A Femminile

Jessika Nash signs for U.S. Sassuolo Calcio in the Serie A Femminile, making the move abroad for the first time in her career after helping the Central Coast Mariners to the 2024/25 A-League Women's Championship.

The defender joins Sassuolo after gaining experience with Australian sides Canberra United, Sydney FC, Melbourne Victory, and Central Coast Mariners. This marks Nash's first overseas contract.

Nash brings plenty of experience to the side, having represented her country at two U20 FIFA Women's World Cups, captaining the side in the 2024 edition of the tournament. At only 20 years old, the defender already has four senior appearances to her name, with her first cap for Australia coming back in 2021 at just 17 years old.

Sassuolo came 8th in the 2024/25 season, avoiding relegation to Serie B during the Relegation Round. The side recorded five wins in the regular season, but on the reverse suffered 9 defeats.

The side will be hoping that the recent signings of Jessika Nash, Melisa Filis and Hélène Fercocq, alongside Gina Chmielinski, who was voted Midfielder of the Year in the league during the 2024/25 season, will help bolster the team into the top of the table.

The defender becomes the third Australian to make the move to the Serie A, with Wini Heatley joining AS Roma and Alex Chidiac signing for F.C. Como.
