Birmingham City currently sits in first place in the Women's Championship, sitting at the top of the table with 7 wins in 12 games and being tied on 23 points with second place, but having a better goal difference.

At the halfway point of the season, Birmingham is looking to strengthen its side and ensure it secures promotion to the top flight at the end of the season.

“I’m happy to be here. I can’t wait to get started. When Birmingham came to me, I loved the ambition."

"They are top of the table right now, looking to get promoted, and I just thought what an opportunity to come to a great club and be part of something exciting." Van Egmond told bcfc.com.

The midfielder becomes the second signing for the Blues on deadline day, joining West Ham United defender, Shannon Cooke, who signed for the side earlier in the day.

Birmingham will next be in action when they take on Sunderland on Monday at 3:00am AEDT,  which can be streamed via the Barclays Women’s Championship's YouTube Channel.
