Gielnik will bring a wealth of experience to the Pumas side, having scored 9 goals across 25 appearances in the 2025/26 season for Rayadas, and playing in England, Australia, Germany and Norway across her career.

The side will be all too familiar with Gielnik, with the Australian forward scoring a hat-trick against Pumas UNAM when they met in the Round 15 clash on the 1st of April 2026.

The forward has 63 senior appearances for Australia since making her debut for the CommBank Matildas in July 2012, scoring 13 times in green and gold. Gielnik has featured in two AFC Women's Asian Cup (2018 & 2022), one FIFA Women's World Cup (2019) & one Olympic Games (2020), having scored a goal against the USA in the Bronze Medal Match in the 2020 edition of the Olympic Games.

The Liga MX Femenil Torneo Apertura 2026 season is scheduled to begin on Friday, July 31, 2026. The league follows a two-tournament format; the Apertura (Opening) kicks off in July/August and runs through December. The Clausura (Closing) starts in January and concludes in May.
