France - Arkema Première Ligue Team of the Year

Ellie Carpenter has been named in the Arkema Première Ligue Team of the Year for her third consecutive year, making up nine Lyon players named in the team of the year.

The award comes off the back of the defender helping Lyon to an undefeated season in the Arkema Première Ligue that saw the 17-time D1 Champions finish at the top of the table and book their spot in the Final this weekend against PSG.

Australia - PFA Team of the Season

The PFA has named their 2024/25 A-League Women's Team of the Season, captained by Holly McNamara, after she received the most votes from the playing cohort.

The voting for this award is done by their peers, with Michelle Heyman, Holly McNamara, Tameka Yallop, Isabel Gomez, Laura Hughes, Alexia Apostolakis & Alex Chidiac being named in the team.

Heyman and Chidiac make the team for a third consecutive year, while McNamara impressively makes the team after a delayed start to her season due to recovery from an ACL injury.

About the PFA Team of the Season

The inaugural PFA A-League Team of the Season was announced in 2009 and has been revealed annually in the A-Leagues Finals Series. Based on peer recognition, selection in the PFA Team of the Season remains one of the highest accolades a professional footballer can receive in Australia.

At the end of each season, PFA members from the A-Leagues are asked to vote on their best XI. The composition of the team is based on the number of votes tallied for each player in each position, with the substitutes bench comprising those players who finished below those in the starting XI positions. The player with the most votes is determined the Team of the Season’s captain.
