Western Sydney Wanderers' defender Clare Hunt has earned her first senior call-up to the CommBank Matildas, named in the 25-player squad that will play in the upcoming Cup of Nations.
The 23-year-old defender becomes the 54th different player called up during Tony Gustavsson’s tenure, with Gustavsson having kept a close eye on her during the current A-League Women's season.
Hunt currently captains the Wanderers, making the move to Western Sydney ahead of the 2020/21 season after spending three seasons at Canberra United.

A shoulder injury during last season saw the defender on the sidelines for an extended period of time, with Gustavsson saying the defender has had an impressive return to the red and black.
During the off-season Hunt plays with Sydney University in the NPLWNSW, following in the footsteps of several fellow teammates.
Despite missing most of last season due to injury the defender made an impact, being named the Wanderers Medal winner for 2022 and was on the bench in the PFA’s Team of the Season.
Hunt has previously represented Australia at the junior level, representing the CommBank Young Matildas during the 2016 AFF Women's Championship in Mandalay, Myanmar.

Playing in the 2016 AFF Women's Championship tournament alongside some fellow Cup of Nations teammates in the likes of Corntee Vine, Alex Chidiac and Clare Wheeler.
The defender is next in action for Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday against Melbourne Victory, with Wanderers looking to pick up their fourth win of the season.
