Amy Sayer signs new deal with Kristianstads DFF

Amy Sayer has signed a new contract with Kristianstads DFF, which will see the forward continue her stay in Sweden, extending her contract at the club through the 2025 season.

Sayer, who signed for Kristianstads DFF in August 2023, will now remain with the Swedish side for another season, however, will likely miss the remainder of the 2024 season after suffering an ACL injury in May.

Since signing for Kristianstads, Sayer has scored two goals across 14 games, as her side sit just outside the UEFA Women's Champions Leagues spot for next season in fourth place, 2 points behind third, however, have a game in hand over the three teams in front of them.

Sayer talked about the contract renewal, "I have loved my time at KDFF so far and being part of this family made it an easy decision to renew my contract for another year."

"The support I have received from the team, coaches, medical staff, and the entire KDFF community when I got injured is unparalleled and only reinforced my decision to stay. I can't wait to come back stronger than ever for next season," she said to kdff.nu

The KDFF club manager, Lovisa Ström added: "During her year with us, Amy has proven to be the individual and player we were aiming for, so I am very pleased that we have already reached a contract extension. I hope Amy's rehab after the knee operation goes according to plan and that we have Amy ready for games again when the series starts next year,"

The 2024 season is almost at the midway point in Sweden, with Kristianstads DFF fighting for their first UEFA Women's Champions League qualification. Kristianstads DFF will next be in action on Sunday the 30th of June (11pm AEST) when they take on BK Häcken.
