Amy Sayer makes move to Malmö FF

Amy Sayer has put pen to paper overnight, signing with Swedish giants, Malmö FF, on a three-year contract.

Sayer joins fellow national teammate, Courtney Nevin, who signed ahead of the 2025 Damallsvenskan season.

“Amy is an exciting player we’ve followed during her time in Sweden,” Maxim Khalil, Sporting Director at Malmö FF said of the Aussie’s signing.

“She combines physicality, technique and game intelligence in a way we think will suit us very well. She can handle different phases of play and various midfield roles, although she’s most effective centrally.

“With Amy and her qualities, we add another key piece in midfield and are now strongly positioned. We hope and believe she can take further steps forward in our environment.”

Sayer is no stranger to Sweden, spending the last three years at Kristianstads DFF where she played 22 matches scoring three goals and three assists in the OBOS Damallsvenskan.

“It feels very exciting to be here. Malmö FF is a big club with high ambitions,” Sayer said.

“I already thought last year (with Kristianstads DFF) that Malmö FF would present tough opposition and be a top-ranking team and they showed that.

“When I heard there was interest in me, I felt I would fit in well here. I’m competitive and want to win everything I take part in. I see myself as a playmaker in central midfield - I like to assist, combine play, and work hard for the team. I can handle different roles and adapt quickly," she continued.

I’ve been in Sweden for three years now and the big dream is to win the league - that’s what both I and the club are working for. I’m here to win."
