6.00pm Kick-off For First Leg Match In Uruguay

FIFA has confirmed the kick-off time for the match first leg play-off match between Australia and Uruguay in Montevideo, will be 6.00pm and that the decision is final.

Football Federation Australia have today been informed by FIFA of it's decision in relation to the kick-off time for the Socceroos match in Montevideo on the weekend.  FIFA have advised that the match will now commence at 6pm local time Saturday (7am Sunday AEDT) and that the decision is final.

"The FFA accepts the decision of FIFA and we now look forward to the matches on Saturday and Wednesday," said FFA Chief Executive John O'Neill.

"In reaching it's decision FIFA consulted with both Associations.  Clearly the AUF found itself in a predicament when their plans to charter a flight fell through after they had set the kick-off time. 

"At the same time the FFA's position and behaviour in respect of the matter has been entirely correct.  FIFA's decision provides a balance between the positions of the respective associations."

Australia V Uruguay Wednesday 16 November 2005 Telstra Stadium, Sydney Kick-off: 8pm
